Ascendum donates €7,500 to the child protection centre in Salzburg

SALZBURG. Ascendum Baumaschinen Österreich GmbH is donating again this year. After a year with many new challenges such as a lack of skilled workers and resources as well as the omnipresent Coronavirus pandemic, it is all the more important for Ascendum to support the Salzburg child protection centre again with a donation of € 7,500. Ascendum is using the strong 2021 financial year to support the weakest members of our society. The child protection centre serves primarily as a contact point for protection and help in the event of abuse and violence in crisis situations.

The year 2021 offered many challenges, not only for us in the construction machinery industry. The work of the Salzburg child protection centre was also made more difficult by a special situation. After almost 35 years at the same location, the charitable organisation had to move to new premises. The infrastructure, which had been built up over the years, had to be moved in a hurry, while the comprehensive child protection facility maintained its services continuously.

The purpose-built new location offers victims of abuse and violence a contact point. However, some modifications are still necessary so that the child protection centre can once again offer its activities to the full extent. For this reason, this year’s donation from Ascendum Baumaschinen Österreich GmbH will go to the “Reconstruction and Adaptation of the Counselling and Therapy Rooms” project sponsored by Licht ins Dunkel for the benefit of the Salzburg Child Protection Centre.

Since the beginning of the Coronavirus crisis in March 2020, working from home and homeschooling have posed new problems for many families. The fact that cases of domestic violence have increased since then no longer surprises anyone. The Salzburg child protection centre has been making a key contribution since 1987 and acts independently, on a non-partisan and non-denominational basis. The declared goal is to secure, maintain and restore the child’s well-being.

The child protection centre Salzburg helps quickly, anonymously and free of charge. The services include advice on the phone or by e-mail, therapy, therapeutic children’s groups, psychological advice at schools, parent and family advice, lectures and seminars as well as projects around the prevention of violence and abuse.
